How do we use it?/How does it benefit the skin?

During a treatment a client’s blood sample is taken. The sample is then spun in a centrifuge therefore separating the red cells in the blood from the PRP. This PRP is then injected into the patient’s body therefore healing the skin.

Which areas can be treated?

It can be injected under the eyes to reduce dark circles.  On the face/ body to reduce pigmented acne scars or scars caused by previous surgery.   It has also been shown to improve the appearance of stretch marks.  Another common therapy is to inject it into the scalp to help stimulate hair growth.

Does It Hurt?

We will use either a topical or local anaesthetic depending on the treatment so there will be minimal to no pain.

What are the Risks/Side Effects?

As PRP is extracted from the patients’ own body there are minimal risks of allergy. The main risks are infection/ bleeding/ bruising/ swelling. Redness is common after the procedure but should improve between 24-72hours.

How long does it take to see a result?

Results begin to show at 3 months and continue to improve for 6 months and then last for one year. However, for best results, clients may require at least 2-3 sessions for skin conditions and 3 or more sessions for hair regrowth.
